A studio built to tell true stories

Elaion Studio is an animated documentary studio in Vancouver, British Columbia, founded by Jeff Choi. We work with documentary producers, museums, memorials and educational organizations to bring testimony, memory and history to the screen.

Jeff served as animation director on Project Witness's We Dared to Write. Elaion Studio produced the film's segment on Yitskhok Rudashevski and continues to animate Microshort Stories, Project Witness's series of ninety-second historical films.

That work helped shape the studio's direction. A Korean-Canadian animator, Jeff has written in Hamodia about his experience working with the diaries and learning from the history they record.

Jeff trained in graphic design and 3D animation and previously led creative work at a smart-media company in Seoul. His work there included 3D-animated Smart TV and mobile applications for Samsung, SK and Korea's major IPTV providers. One of those titles was shown at CES in Las Vegas and Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Today, Jeff leads Elaion's projects from the first discussion through production and delivery, combining visual storytelling with research and close collaboration.
