Animated documentary
Animation gives visual form to experiences preserved in testimony, archives and memory. It can help tell stories where footage is missing, where a contributor needs to remain unseen, or where a literal depiction would not serve the material.

Testimony and oral history
Short films built from interviews, personal accounts and recorded memories. The visual approach follows the contributor's words and the context in which the story will be shared.

Historical reconstructions
Places and events brought into view through animation, drawing on historical records and visual references. Questions of interpretation are discussed as the images develop.

Films for galleries, memorials and educational displays, planned around the viewing environment, audience and delivery requirements.

Animated sequences and segments for documentary productions. We work alongside your director, editor and production team to fit the animation into the wider film.
How we work

RESEARCH AND SCOPE
We review your script, testimony or archive, identify questions that need further research, and agree the audience, deliverables and scope.
02.
STORYBOARDS AND TIMING
Storyboards and an animatic establish the scenes, camera choices and pacing. We review key depiction decisions with you before full animation begins.
03.
VISUAL DEVELOPMENT
Design, colour and lighting are developed around the material and the agreed production approach. This work may develop alongside the storyboards.
04.
PRODUCTION AND REVIEW
Animation, editing, music and sound come together through agreed review stages. Feedback is addressed at planned points throughout production.
05.
DELIVERY
We prepare the finished files for the agreed platforms and formats. Captions, language versions and additional edits can be included in the project scope.
For producers & institutions
Based in Vancouver, we work with clients internationally. You can approach us with a developed brief or an earlier idea; the first conversation helps establish what the project needs.
If the work is still in development, we can discuss an initial research or visual-development phase. For funding applications, we can provide a preliminary scope and estimate after reviewing the brief. Detailed research, storyboards and animation tests are quoted separately.

The fee depends on the length, visual approach, research, new characters and environments, review requirements and final deliverables. Once the scope is clear, we provide a proposal with the fee and schedule.
