Microshort Stories
ELAION animates Microshort Stories, an ongoing series of 90-second animated documentaries made with Project Witness for Holocaust education. Each episode tells the true story of one person: a forger producing papers for children in occupied Paris, a boxer fighting match after match to stay alive in Auschwitz, a monarch who refused to surrender his Jewish subjects.
It's taught in classrooms across all fifty US states, and watched hundreds of thousands of times on social media.
We also directed the animation on We Dared to Write, a feature documentary built from diaries kept by teenagers during the Holocaust, now touring museums and universities across North America.
What we do
Testimony animation, historical visualization, and animated sequences inside larger documentary productions. In plain terms: first-person accounts and real events, built as images because the footage doesn't exist.
Some projects run ninety seconds. Some run feature length. The research and the review process don't change with the runtime.
